Movie posters for early James Bond films show Bond holding an LP 53 or Olympia pistol instead of his usual service PPK. The LP53 is all metal with plastic grip panels. It is a.177 calibre air pistol with the same design lines as Walther's famous.22 LR Olympia target pistol. AI 619 - AI 619 The LP53 (Luft pistole/ Air Pistol)pistol) was produced between 1953 and1983.
Thanks, Nick.ġ953-83, West German, Walther LP 53.177 Calibre, Air Pistol.
Also guidance on pricing would be appreciated too. I couldn't work out how to upload photos onto this post but here are a couple of links to photos of the markings: Any guidance on whether this pistol actually has the serial number 177, or if its simply its calibre reprinted would be greatly appreciated. Stamped on the end of the pistol is 177, and from a little research on the internet this appears to be where the serial number is usually stamped? The pistol also has 'J' stamped between the trigger guard and grip. The interesting thing is what I presume might be the serial number - 177. Of which there is an interesting Webley 'Junior'.177 The pistol is only in a 'fair' condition for its age, the blueing isn't great and it looks like theres a slight bend in the barrel.
Hi All, I have a few pistols and air rifles my grandfather-in-law wants to clear out.
